Quite a few things struck me about this blog. First of all, I really liked the organizational flow of this unit of study. It was all based around over-arching essential questions, student-driven, questions, and goals. I liked the clarity of the language: challenge, short-term goals, long-term goals, etc. It’s very student-friendly and student-centered. The template would definitely make me approach instructional planning and learning outcomes differently than the standard lesson plan template I have been using. The challenge is very student-centered. If I were a student in this class, I know I would get a lot more out of this than the way the instructional and assessment had previously been delivered, and I believe the new learning would stick with me rather than forgetting it all once the assessment has occurred.

The teacher and students seem to have equal opportunity to input into the lesson. I like how it helps students focus on essential questions and tasks. Also there is no test eliciting specific answers to specific questions. It also focuses students to be more goal focused.
